Can we find what we are looking for?
We all need to think some more,
To love our world and where we are,
To see ourselves from worlds afar.
We hope to feel the fountain of our youth,
Which refreshes life along with proof.
We are all part of this world, so old a planet,
Forever young, for us a top of spinning granite.
And the seas will rise and the seas will fall,
Everyone has an answer, to do nothing at all.
The powers that be, at the top of the tree,
Count their readies, so what will be, will be.
And we try and paint our thoughts in green,
Hiding damage to the earth as yet unseen,
Though she will turn forever more.
With mankind’s hopes put outside the door.
For she is old and we are young,
And when man’s folly comes undone.
She’ll grow another silky skin,
Of many patterned colours from within.
