The dancer eased up to the bar,
Ducked her way under.
With a shimmy and a shake,
Back bent, arched peering at the stars.
The candles glow and lick the night.
‘Most beautiful woman on god’s damn planet,
Just curled her finger and beckoned to yours truly.!’
…And offered a slice of cheesecake.
The limbo dancer makes another pass under the bar,
By now I know that Lady luck is grinning from ear to ear.
We drive to the home of Liana,
And the dust from the track leaves the party behind.
Out in the sticks,
I feel like it could be magic.
I feel so warm in the dryness of the evening,
We kiss and I could be in a dream.
The summer couldn’t have ended better,
I stay the night and six months later.
I’m still there in the arms of Liana,
Doing odd jobs and the like.
Winter is ever so much fun.
Even where there is quiet,
There’s a connection we make.
She likes the fact that I’m around…
